There are many types of slings and baby carriers available. Four of the most popular types are adjustable ring slings, pouches, front carriers and seated carriers. Each type has its features but some have large deficiencies. Adjustable ring slings allow you to tighten (or loosen) them as much as you need to and they also provide good back support.
